In grade 9, we were lucky enough to have a conversation with Sean Yu, a successful entrepreneur and CEO of an accounting software startup called Paraşüt here in Turkey. He began by going through some of the pressures he went through during high school while deciding on a college career and how his choice between MIT and Harvard was really a choice between what he wanted to do and what was expected of him. At 26 he came to a crossroads and decided to follow his interests in coding and entrepreneurship. He went back to school and ended up creating the #2 ranked startup in Turkey (also featured in Wired Magazine). Our students had well thought out questions and were engaged in the conversation. We hope to do other e-visits in the future to garner interest in possible careers.
